For it’s size, it’s one of the most unassuming yet strongest surface mounted wood post anchor you will find. Stand alone 42″ 4×4 posts are rated to a minimum of 500 lbs on concrete when installed according to our Engineering Reports.
What is it for?
It’s a good solution for privacy panels, pergola, pavilions and other similar structures on hard surfaces. If you are looking for high performance and aesthetic standards, you’ll like this because now you can do things that would have required a much larger visible bracket.
Where you can use it.
Designed and tested for use on concrete. It could also be used on stone with appropriate anchoring fasteners. It has not been tested on wood frame surfaces so use caution and we would recommend using a wood install kit at a minimum. You cannot assume that the concrete test loads are transferrable to a wood framed structure.
Install 4×4/ 6×6 structural post anchor with a 1-¼”x18″ ship auger and a ½” twist bit. And install 8×8 structural post anchor with 1-½” x 18″ Ship Auger and a ½” twist bit. Grab one of our high-performance Ship Augers and our Bad Boy Post Wrench for the installation and you are off and running.

| Fasteners | Use ¼” diameter by 2-½” Wedge Bolts® on concrete surfaces. Use Wood Installation Kit for wood framed joist bay installations which includes four 3/8″ x5″ carriage bolts and compression plates. Wood Installation Kit sold separately. Note that we do not have load testing data for wood frame installations and therefore you should not use this on a surface with required guards unless you have conducted your own due diligence and engineering and have obtained approval from a local building authority. Recommended Uses & Code Compliance |
Privacy panels, pergolas, concrete mounted pool enclosures, pavilions or similar structures. Do not use on surfaces 30” (USA) or 600mm (CAN) or higher unless you have conducted your own due diligence and engineering and have obtained approval from a local building authority. Please read the Engineering Reports for guidance and suitability of your intended use. Before using this product, engage a local engineer or inspector to review our engineering reports to determine suitability for your application. Building codes can vary and our reports may not apply in your area. This product is for private residential use only. It is not for commercial, industrial or apartment building applications. | Composite Decking | Pre-drill screw holes before driving screws into composite decking. Composite and synthetic boards are very dense and if holes are not pre-drilled you may snap off the head of the screw. Also pre-drilling holes on wood or composite deck boards anytime a screw will be driven very close to the edge of a board. This will prevent the board from splitting. |

Great product. Needed to build a jig to drill the hole in the bottom straight and thought it was going to be impossible to get the holes drilled straight but with a little time and patience it worked. Thought screwing the 10 ft tall post onto the plate was going to be impossible but it went right on.

Very solid anchor. It took me about 4 tries to get the post plumb & sq to the fence it was used in. If I had been less old carpenter stubborn & followed the installation instructions, it would have gone much faster
